SOLARIO RACING owners enjoyed a fabulous afternoon’s hospitality and racing at Royal Ascot on day four of the Royal Meeting today and the Racing Manager even managed to give three of the six winners!
Eclipse Sports Promotions, owned by racing enthusiast, Steve Surridge has been hosting a pre-racing lunch at the Royal Meeting for clients during the last eleven years and this year, Solario Racing owners were invited to join the party.
Champagne, Pimms and a fabulous buffet with poached salmon, chicken and accompanying salads followed by strawberries and cream set everyone up for the afternoon’s racing fayre.
Former Group One jockey turned ITV presenter, Hayley Turner gave up time from her busy TV schedule to go through the card with Solario Racing’s yours truly.
There were a couple of “good things” on the card, namely Aidan O’Brien’s Carravagio and Winter and both tipsters gave them and both duly obliged. However, a certain Racing Manger was delighted to give the winner of the Queen’s Vase, Stradavarius and he even gave a mention to the runner-up, Count Octave. (The exacta paid £65!)
Racing on day four was superb as it has been all week and surely Carravagio’s win in a high quality Group One Commonwealth Cup will live long in the memory. Yet again, the Master of Ballydoyle managed to saddle the first three home, this time in the Coronation Stakes as he did in last year’s Arc de Triomphe.
This man’s attention to detail and his ability to get horses to peak for the big occasion time and time again is truly a phenomenon.
