NICKY BABY OUT TO CONTINUE YARD’S GOOD FORM

Nicky Baby - each-way chance at Chelmsford

Nicky Baby – each-way chance at Chelmsford

NICKY BABY is one of two stable runners today at Chelmsford and although still a maiden, Dean is hoping the Doreen Carter-owned grey can continue the fine form of the yard.

The son of Dark Angel is still a maiden after 15 starts but ran well on his penulatimate start at Lingfield.  He is one of eight runners in today’s mile handicap (2.35pm) and Rob Havlin (who has ridden him before) is on board.  With two of the earlier market leaders non-runners, Nicky Baby has a good each-way chance at 6/1.

Earlier at 2pm, the same owner runs Soaring Spirits in a seven-runner sprint handicap.  Although the very capable Luke Morris rides him for the first time, the eight-times winning 8yo is better on the turf and it’s been a while since he won on the all-weather. While Nicky Baby is quite solid in the market, Soaring Spirits has drifted out to 10/1.
