NEZAR HAS A LOT IN HIS FAVOUR TO GO CLOSE

Nezar - lot in his favour at Wolverhampton

Nezar – lot in his favour at Wolverhampton

NEZAR, runs in the opener at Wolverhampton today, a 7f handicap, due off at 1.20pm and the 10yo, although not getting any younger, does have a lot in his favour to go close in the seven-runner contest.

He has a fine record at the track with three of his seven career wins coming there, two over course and distance.  His last win was back in January of last year when he was ten pounds higher than today’s mark of 60 and Sophie Ralston, who rode him claiming 5lbs that day, is doing so again today.  He is drawn well, 2 of 7.

So the scene is set for a big run and hopefully at around 15/2, the veteran son of Mastercraftsman can the stable off the mark for the year.  Gonzaga, who has a good recent record at the course without winning, is a major player.
