LOOKING FOR IMPROVEMENT FROM SPRING ROMANCE

Spring Romance – runs in the 6.50 at Windsor

SPRING ROMANCE is one of eight runners in today’s 6f novice at Windsor (6.50pm) and we are hoping he will show improvement from his first run back in May at the Berkshire track when he was eighth of ten.

Adam Kirby liked the colt but said he’d need a couple more runs and a handicap mark before he started winning.  However, he is on board again today and although the top-weight, Running Cloud is a worthy favourite, he does have to give seven pounds and upwards all round.

There is little market confidence in any of the other runners which include some nicely bred newcomers.  Richard Hughes runner, Rustang, by Holy Roman Emperor, cost 678,000 euros!

Spring Romance is weak in the market at around 16/1 but it is not inconceivable that he could pinch a place but today is really about improvement from first run to second.

Dean also runs Classic Villager in the last, a six-runner 10f handicap.  Adam Kirby is again on board and at 5/1, the son of Authorised has a chance although hot favourite, Hollywood Road should be hard to beat.
