DEAN IVORY has today entered one of his stable stars, Lancelot Du Lac, for the 80,000 Euros Group 3 Prix Saint-Georges over 5f in Deauville on 13th May.
The horse would be Dean’s first runner in Europe, although he has had runners in Dubai, notably, “Lancelot”, who was second and fourth in four starts at Meydan two years ago.
The 7yo son of Shamardal has been a tremendous servant to owners, Michael and Heather Yarrow, having won 10 times in 45 starts and earned over a £1/4 million
in prize money. At his peak, he was rated 110 but he is still on a mark of 106 and has been in great form on the all-weather over the winter, with two wins, a second and a fourth in four starts this year.
The 25 entries include Godolphin’s dual Group One winner, Profitable and at the weights, he is clearly the one to beat. Whether “Lancelot” ends up running or not, he is sure to be the first of more European entries in the near future for Harper Lodge Farm.
