LANCELOT BIDS FOR GLORY IN CHAMPIONSHIP SPRINT

Lancelot Du Lac - bids to go one better than last year

Lancelot Du Lac – bids to go one better than last year

LANCELOT DU LAC goes for Championship Glory at Lingfield today in the big sprint race of the day, the Betway All-Weather Sprint Championships Conditions Stakes, worth £93,000 to the winner and due off at 3.10pm.

Last year he was second from a wide draw of 12 but today he is drawn more kindly, six of twelve and having been in great form over the winter, he is entitled to go close today.

These contests are always  tight affairs and old rivals Pretend and Boom The Groom take him on and they would be two of the dangers along with Kimberella and Mythmaker.  However, with a little luck in running, Lancelot has a great each-way chance at 4/1 under Robert Winston.

Kadrizzi - heads weights in Apprentice Handicap

Kadrizzi – heads weights in Apprentice Handicap

In the first race on the card at 1.40pm,  Kadrizzi runs in the Sunbets All-Weather Championship Apprentice Handicap over 7f and the 4yo son of Hurricane Cat heads the weights under stable apprentice, Jack Duern.  A winner of four of his 17 starts, all his success has been over five and six furlongs, so he has yet to prove  as effective over 7f.  This is reflected in his 25/1 price but if Jack can eek out some stamina, he wouldn’t be totally out of it although his wide draw of 14 does not help.  At the bottom of the weights, War Glory looks well handicapped.

Good luck to connections of both Harper Lodge Farm runners.
