Dor’s Law – the pick of Doreen Carter’s trio?

ONE of Dean’s long-standing owners, Mrs Doreen Carter, has all of her three horses running today at Wolverhampton, two of them in the same race.

Starting at 2.10, she is represented by Soaring Spirits and Nicky Baby in the 11-runner 7f handicap.  The first string would appear to be the latter, the mount of Jack Duern, who is a 14/1 chance.  If the first-time blinkers work, the 3yo grey gelding could be in the mix.  Soaring Spirits, ridden by Rob Hornby, has better form on the turf.

Doreen’s final runner is Dor’s Law in the 3.15 and after the 4yo filly was second under Rob Hornby two weeks ago, the jockey keeps the ride.  The slightly longer trip (1m 1/2 furlongs) should suit and at 8/1, the filly rates a fair each-way bet.

At Kempton, the stable has Nezar (Jack Osborn claiming seven) and Cappananty Con (Robert Winston) both in the 6.45, a 6f sprint.  Both are drawn wide which will not help their cause and both are 16/1 shots.
