BARON BAROLO

Stunning, scopey, clean-limbed gelding, that really catches the eye. Very reminiscent of his sire, Gr 1 winner, Al Wukair, who was a top-class miler, winning a Listed race at two and the prestigious Gr 1 Jacques Le Marois at three. Came 3rd in English 2000 Guineas behind Churchill. Dam by Dansili, cost 480,000 euros as a yearling, owned by Al Shaqab Racing. Half-brother to a dual winner from just two runners, rated 81. From the family of French Derby winner, Hernando, Joint Champion Older Horse in Europe in 1994. Shrewdly purchased for just 15,000 guineas, he has the size and scope to run at two and three. Very attractive, strong, good-moving bay gelding by Godolphin’s Royal Ascot winner, Buratino out of winning Arcano mare, Archange.  Sire was joint 3rd top-rated two-year-old colt in Europe in 2015, winner of four races including Gr 2 Coventry Stakes & Listed Woodcote Stakes at Epsom.  By the world’s greatest sire of juveniles, Exceed And Excel, Buratino is from the family of Danehill Dancer.  Dam won three races at two & placed six times.  Half-brother, Forefront won twice as a two-year-old, highest rating 92 and won at three.  Bought to run at two with the physical scope to progress at three.  Syndicated in 1/12th shares for two seasons (2022 and 2023).
