Garswood colt on the lunge

Garswood colt on the lunge

SOLARIO RACING’S new acquisition, an attractive, really good moving colt by second season sire Garswood, is progressing nicely at Harper Lodge Farm and is on the lunge each day after a spell on the horse walker.

He arrived at Radlett ten days ago after being purchased by Solario Racing on the first day of Tattersalls Yearling Sale, Book Three.  At the sales, he was rather reluctant during the pre-sales vetting process and was also a tad camera shy in the after-sales photo-shoot.

However, “Woody” as he has been dubbed in some quarters, is certainly showing no signs of shyness since getting to know his new home and stable mates.  He’s a proper “boy” and likes to make his presence felt but he has a lovely temperament and is already showing a thoroughly professional attitude to work.

Some prospective owners were up on Saturday and saw him being lunged by stable apprentice, Jack Duern.  He moves beautifully on the lunge and Jack was impressed by his attitude.

“I like him a lot and it’s great to be involved with one right from the start”, said Jack who has ridden Spring Romance to three of his four wins this year for Solario Racing (Berkhamsted).

Solario Racing has enjoyed a fabulous year with both Spring Romance and Don’t Look Down.  The two three-year-olds have run eleven times between them.  “Neville” has won four times, been second twice and recorded a fourth from seven runs.  Don’t Look Down, aka “Bruce”, has had four races, coming fourth, third and second twice.

It’s early days but one gets the impression the colt is quietly impressing trainer and staff alike.  If you’d like to find out more about “the Garswood” who is being syndicated in 1/12th shares, please call the Racing Office on 01442 877 597 or email  Why not come and see him for yourself?
