SOLARIO RACING’S Garswood yearling colt took another step forward today when having his first ever canter on the Harper Lodge Farm gallops and he relished his new surroundings.
Since arriving at the yard, he has been broken in and spent time walking, trotting and cantering in the indoor school and in the outside canter ring. Fifty days on since arriving at Radlett, it was time for this very attractive looking colt to take a look at the all-weather gallops.
After limbering up in the indoor school with another yearling, a chestnut colt by Sir Prancelot, the April-born colt went out of the school on the fairly short route to the gallops, accompanied by his yearling companion and Solario Racing’s Spring Romance, who was to teach the youngsters what it’s all about!
Aka “Neville”, Spring Romance was having his first spin on the gallops since coming back into work since a late summer/autumn holiday. Of course he knew his job and looked in great shape. He led up the two youngsters and while he went straight as a gun barrel, there was a slight cork-screw jink by the Garswood yearling as he espied a small gathering of on-lookers including yours truly.
However, it was a very pleasing first trip to the gallops and the son of Garswood, a black type winner at two, three and four, behaved impeccably under regular pilot, Luke Bacon.
Beautifully balanced, this colt out of a mare, Pachanga, who has produced five winners from seven runners, also has a fabulous temperament. He’s been willing and enjoyed every aspect of his new life since leaving the sale ring at Tattersalls in October.
The colt is being syndicated in 1/12th shares in the Solario Racing (Ashridge) Syndicate. If you wish to get involved in an attractive, well-bred, exciting young colt, please call Solario Racing on 01442 877 597 or email us at solarioracing.com.
