FOLLOWING “Super Saturday” when the yard had a near 17/1 Lingfield double, Dean Ivory sends a party of four to Wolverhampton today including two favourites.
First up is All-Weather Horse of the Year, Tangramm, who is one of ten runners in the 2.50, a 1m 1 1/2f handicap. This four times course and distance winner loves the Tapeta surface and has each-way credentials at 11/2.
Half an hour later at 3.20, Harlequin Star makes his racecourse debut in a 6f median auction maiden. Weak in the market at 16/1, he is likely to benefit from the run and those with previous racecourse experience such as Blue Bahia and Right Actioin, are likely to have the edge.
At 4.20pm, Jack The Laird is 2/1 favourite in a 6f handicap and he should go close if recapturing some of last year’s form.
Robert Winston is aboard the first three runners but Lulu Stanford is aboard Secret Bird, the last of the Ivory quartet in the 5.20, a 5f apprentice handicap. Lulu, who gets on well with the 5yo son of Arcano (two wins and two places from four rides) claims 5lbs and this course and distance winner should go very close to justifying odds of 13/8.
