ENABLE, winner of five successive Group Ones this year including last week’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe is to stay in training next season as a four-year-old.
The Nathaniel filly, owned by Prince Khalid Abdullah is already worth a fortune as a broodmare but she is sportingly being kept in training by the head of Juddmonte Farms with her target being another Arc.
Racing Manager to Prince Khalid, Lord Grimthorpe said: “Her racing programme will be decided in the new year, but the defence of the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe will be high in consideration.” He went on; “Prince Khalid loves to see his horses race, especially the good ones.”
Frankie Dettori, now the most successful Arc jockey in history with five victories to his name was very excited about the prospect and commented: “I’m delighted with the news and very grateful to Prince Khalid.
“She is obviously a filly of a lifetime so I am absolutely made up that she stays in training. What she achieved this year is nothing but sensational and I look forward to riding her again next year.”
This is great news for flat racing fans who are often deprived of their superstar idols running at four as they get packed off to stud or the covering sheds at the end of their three-year-old careers.
