ELJADDAAF destroyed the opposition today at Kempton when winning a 6f handicap by four lengths to record his sixth career win and his fourth at the track.
There was a suicidal gallop, which benefitted the winner, who was kept off the pace by Robert Winston but two furlongs out as the leaders weakened, the 6yo son of Sharmardal made smooth progress, went into the lead a furlong from home and won readily.
Eleven months ago, Eljaddaaf won his first race off a mark of 55. Today, he was racing off a 22lb higher mark on 77. No doubt, the handicapper will not look too kindly on today’s facile win but this rapidly improving sprinter probably still has more to come.
Dean Ivory has hit the ground running in 2017, this being his second win in two days from just five runners after Landelot Du Lac’s impressive win at Chelmsford yesterday.
