DANCINGINTHEWOODS has just his sixth race tomorrow when one of eleven runners in a 7f handicap at Headquarters, due off at 1.10pm and he has the form to run a big race under regular pilot Joey Haynes.
Rated 80, his conqueror at Doncaster last season, Thunderous, won three races subsequently including last time out in the Group 2 Dante Stakes at York. The Mark Johnston horse is now rated 112. Would he beat “Woody” giving 32lbs in a handicap if they met tomorrow?
The 3yo son of Garswood’s last race at Haydock, when fourth is working out well with three horses having gone on to win four races between them. Two others have been runner-up with one coming second on two occasions.
Dancinginthewoods has also been gelded since his last run and that should bring about improvement. He’s working well and looks to have sound each-way credentials at around 8/1. The hot favourite is John Gosden’s last time out winner, Al Rufaa, who is 6lb well in. He’s definitely the fly in the ointment and Sheikh Hamdan’s Al Namir looks a threat but I don’t think Joey Haynes would swap any other horse in the race for “Woody.”
