BLAZE OF HEARTS broke his duck yesterday at Yarmouth and in doing so, provided Dean Ivory with his career 400th victory on the flat.
The 4yo son of Canford Cliffs appreciated the fast ground and drop back in trip to 9f and won by one and a half lengths from Stosur at 11/2 under Robert Winston.
Owned by Nicola Yarrow, “Blaze” continued the good work of not only Dean Ivory but of the Yarrow family who have enjoyed recent big race success with Lancelot Du Lac, Stake Acclaim and Eirene.
August has seen a real resurgence of form for the yard with Harper Lodge Farm sending out five winners from 30 runs and earning prize money close to £1/4 million.
For those of you thinking you’ve read this story before and that the 400th winner is a piece of déjà vu, Hello Girl’s victory last week was Dean’s 400th winner in total, which included two over jumps!
