BADENSCOTH HACKS UP ON JACK DUERN’S RETURN

JACK DUERN, apprentice jockey at Harper Lodge Farm, has been injured since last month with a broken hand but he came back with a vengeance tonight on his first ride back with a winner on Badenscoth at Chelmsford.

One of nine runners in a 3yo mile handicap, the son of Foxwedge was hampered at the start but soon recovered, was always in contention and led a furlong out.  The 12/1 shot won comfortably by three and three-quarter lengths to give Dean Ivory his second win in four days.

Unraced at two, Badenscoth has made up for lost time with two wins and two seconds from nine starts.  He started on a mark of 61 and today raced off 73.  A mark in the 80s beckons.

Congratulations to Peter J Skinner who not only owns the horse but bred him as well.  Whatever the handicapper does, Peter has enjoyed success at 12/1…twice!
