Treble Strike - each-way chance at Kempton

Treble Strike – each-way chance at Kempton

DEAN IVORY runs four tonight at Kempton, one after another with Villette at 6.45, Varsovian at 7.15, Artscape at 7.45 and finally Treble Strike at 8.15 and it is the third runner who looks very interesting.

The 5yo son of Iffraaj won on only his second outing a month ago when flooring an odds-on favourite to win at Kempton over 6f.  Today, off a mark of 75, he makes his handicap debut over course and distance in a 0-85 and this late maturing progressive sort could have a future.  A winner at 14/1 in his maiden, he’s much shorter today at 10/3 but nicely drawn, four of nine, he should go very close under Robert Winston with Under Siege, Florencio and Bouclier the main dangers.

Villette makes her racecourse debut over a mile and a half in a median auction maiden and this daughter of Sixties Icon is the 33/1 outsider of five under Jack Duern.  A good-looking filly, she is sure to come on for the experience.

Varsovian has done all his winning over 6f, so today’s 7f trip is not ideal.  Well drawn in stall one, this seven-times winner is still on a winning mark and should run well but the trip is slightly off-putting.  Jack Duern rides the 6/1 shot.

Dean could have a double courtesy of Treble Strike, who runs in a two-mile handicap.  The 4yo son of Hat Trick ran well last time out over two miles at Lingfield under Jack Duern and the same jockey is aboard today.  At 6/1, he has each-way credentials in an open-looking contest.
