Angel Of The South – steps up to seven furlongs

DEAN sends out four runners today: Cappananty Con in the 3.15 at Newmarket, Artscape in the 4.35 at Nottingham and two at Newbury, namely Angel Of The South in the 6.50 and Badenscoth at 8pm and while all have chances of sorts, Artscape may be the pick.

A winner last time out on good to soft,  the 5yo is a 3/1 shot to go in again in similar conditions under Steve Drowne.  A winner of two from six career starts, there’s probably more to come.

There may also be more improvement from Cappananty Con, one of six runners at Newmarket.  While the Good to Soft conditions may not be ideal, this son of Zebedee has the assistance of champion jockey, Jim Crowley and at 5/1, he has each-way claims.

At Newbury, Angel Of The South bids to get her head in front, stepping up to 7f for the first time in a 16 -runner fillies’ novice stakes.  She is beginning to look a little exposed but experience counts a lot in these 2yo events and she has sound each-way claims at 5/1.  Time Change looks the biggest danger.

Finally, Badenscoth is top weight in the mile handicap and this all-weather winner, although a shade disappointing last time at Nottingham, has each-way claims at 11/2.  Robert Winston rides both Newbury runners.
