SOLARIO RACING has two very nice two-year-olds and one of them, a filly by Twilight Son, aka “Twinkle”, went upsides an older horse in good style this morning.
She has only been going up to the gallops during the last fortnight and went upsides for the first time earlier this week but she’s a quick learner and does things very easily.
This morning, ridden by stable 5lb claiming jockey, Sophie Ralston, she did a piece with 5yo Laurentia, who won four times last year and went up over a stone in the handicap. The two came upsides for most of the way but “Twinkle” moved past her towards the end of the gallop very smoothly.
Sophie has struck up a good relationship with the filly and says she’s “very professional.” The filly seems to have plenty of speed and looks a sharp sort who should be out on the course this spring.
Bred by Max Weston, Stud Manager at nearby Childwickbury Stud, the filly is a half-sister to four winners from six runners, including nine-times sprint winner, Show Stealer, who finished her 40-race career on an all-time high mark of 98. The youngest sibling to race is Sir Maxi, who won twice last year over 6 and 7 furlongs and was runner-up twice from four starts and is rated 85. He looks an interesting prospect for this year.
The sire, Twilight Son is a dual Group One winning sprinting sire of Kyllachy, so there’s plenty of speed throughout the pedigree.
Purchased for 16,000 guineas at Tattersalls October Yearling Sales, she is eligible for the £20k Bonus fillies’ races and is also entered in the £150,000 Tattersalls Auction Stakes at Newmarket.
She is being syndicated in quarter shares, so if you wish to get involved in a nicely-bred, early type who has scope to go on at three, please contact the Racing Office on 01442 877 597 or email email@example.com.
