“INSIDE THE RAILS”, a new podcast for horse racing enthusiasts, supported by the RSA (Racehorse Syndicates Association) has launched its second episode this week end with an exclusive interview with top jumps jockey, Tom Scudamore.

Yours truly and fellow RSA committee member, Phil Boyle of BG Racing, are the co-hosts and the idea is to promote racehorse ownership to a wider audience and hopefully we can encourage some new owners into the sport.

In the first episode, Phil and I talked about how we both got the buzz of horse racing and moved into racehorse ownership.  It was well received and it drew some nice reviews, so thank you to those who listened.  However, our intention was always to get some high profile guests on from the world of horse racing and we were delighted to get Tom Scudamore on as our first guest.

Fresh from his recent big wins on Ramses De Teillee in a Grade 3 Handicap Chase at Cheltenham and a record equalling third success in the Ladbrokes Trophy, at Sandown on Cloth Cap, Tom was an excellent guest on “Inside The Rails.”  He talks about very early memories such as sitting on popular greats such as Bonanza Boy as a very young boy, what’s it’s like riding for different trainers and various types of owners and also how he and his fellow jockeys have coped with riding with no crowds during the pandemic.

We could not have had a jockey in better form, as he won two of the first three races at Cheltenham yesterday and was second in the other!  He’s a pretty good tipster too as he gave a winner on the Friday,  Make Me A Believer, which was also successful at Prestbury Park.  As Tom pointed out, the race was before the podcast went live but he did give the following horses to follow….

….sorry, no spoilers!  The home page of the Solario Racing web site has details of the four platforms for you to listen to the full interview including Tom’s horses to follow!  Happy listening!

Oh and if you like what you hear, please do remember to subscribe, rate and review!  Thank you.
