THE £150,000 TATTERSALLS OCTOBER AUCTION STAKES, run at Newmarket over 6f is a long-term target for the exciting 2yo filly by Twilight Son.
The juvenile sprint is for horses purchased or bought in at the 2020 Tattersalls October Yearling Sales, Books 3 & 4 and the 2020 Tattersalls Ascot Yearling Sale. As the daughter of Winifred Jo was bought for £16,000 guineas at Book 3, she qualifies and was duly entered this week.
The conditions of the race are ideal as not only does she get a 5lb fillies’ allowance but because of her purchase price, she would carry an additional 4lbs less.
The distance of 6f should also suit on pedigree. The sire, Twilight Son was a dual Group One winning sprinting son of Kyllachy, having won the Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock and the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot and the dam is by Bahamian Bounty. In addition, the filly’s half-sister, Show Stealer, won nine races, seven of which were over six furlongs.
There are two more additional entry stages for the race, on May 4th and September 27th and the total entry stage is £750 but with £150,000 up for grabs including £82.500 to the winner and prize money down to 10th place, this is a pot worth chasing!
Solario Racing has been delighted with the progress of the filly who is being broken in at Childwickbury Stud, where she was born and bred by Stud Manager, Max Weston. She will go into full training at Dean Ivory’s Harper Lodge Farm Stables next week.
The filly, as yet unnamed but known as “Twinkle,” is being syndicated in quarter shares.
